If you have 2 cups of potato salad left over, you can store it all. But if you just have 1 cup of salsa to store, the bowl doesn't take up unnecessary space in the fridge. Better still, the piece collapses to 1 inch with the lid attached when empty, so you can avoid awkward stacks and frustrating lid-hunts.
